What are you guys on about?

My unit works perfect with TC 1/16, etc. Swing settings are spot on. I just find the note repeat a hit n miss, but its not a major issue for me.

TC...No issues here. Maybe its a case of keeping up with the click.

yeah but try t.c. at 1/8th note triplets or 1/16th note triplets. when you set it to those it doesns't even recognize some of your hits.

Can you play in triplets though? It can get tricky, but it works for me. Its down to how you play those pads in time with the sequencer click, whilst recording. Im use to playing in natural swing, so no probs.

My 4000 is even better at picking up 1/16 triplets, without messing things up. It must be the higher resolution.

Akai do need to sort out the Note Repeat though. It works, but its not reliable each time. Im sure the next OS will fix this.

it's not my playing that's the problem. if you set the tc to 8th/16th note triplets on the 2500 with os 1.2 or 1.21 and try to play something super simple like a snare on the 2 and 4 for 8 bars, some of the hits don't record at all. definitely something wierd there. not a problem when tc is not set to triplets.

There is nothing wrong with the TC of triplets. It recognizes the notes as it's supposed to. You have to understand how (and when) to hit the pad while programming as well. If you're having the problem of it not recognizing your notes, then you're not hitting the notes as close as you shoud be.

WRONG.

it doesn't matter where you hit the notes. at all. sometimes it doesn't recognize that you hit a note at all. read what i wrote. i'm talking about hitting a snare drum on the 2 or a kick drum on the 1. i'm not even playing triplets. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH TC OF TRIPLETS ON OS 1.2 AND 1.21.

Works perfectly fine for me.

well there sure as S++T is something wrong with OS 1.21 with mine as it throws everything down on the one and the only work around is shutting quantize off and then using TC after the fact
