Newbie to home recording

I've got Nuendo and am looking to buy a soundcard to do some rough drafts before I drop @ "the" studio. will this suffice?

Yeah that will work and allow you to record but just note that it only has one 1/4 input and 1 XLR input. Check out the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 USB joint that one will offer u a lil more. Inless u need a mic input with phantom power. Do you?

No, I don't need Phantom power. I appreciate your feed back and I'll check out the one you recommended.
