Hey, I have a Denon dn-x100 mixer and a mpc 2k classic. I have connected these two together. Image
The two wires that are supposed to go in the mixer, I've connected it to the left in Line1. And connected it to the digital in and outs behind the MPC. When I try to sample, I don't get any sound! I have the turntable playing music, and I try to sample it to the MPC but when I'm finished there's no sound at all! This happens when I sample it Analog, and when I try to sample digital it says that there is no connection! What should I do people? I mean, have I done a mistake or is it the MPC that's busted?? :?

Thanks

Oh dear

I haven't tried the digi out/ins on my 8 out yet, so can't help you there. Are you sure the mixer sends digital information out of those outs? A quick skim read of pages 5 and 6 in your manual says they're analogue as far as I can tell:

Run a set of stereo phono or jack cables out of the mixer into the "Record in" analogue jack inputs on the MPC.

Does that work?

I don't have the things you're talking about... Is it expensive? And can you PLEASE give me a link to where I can buy it? Thank you so much!

RCA Phono cables:

1/4 inch Jack cables:

You can also get adapters to go either way as well. The analogue ins on the MPC are all 1/4 inch Jack cables You can buy them from any musicians shop and some hi fi/electrical stockists. The more expensive ones are usually better (ie they usually last longer), but you can spend little to loads. Also make them as short as possible for less signal degredation (ie don't buy 10 meter cables if you only need 1 meter).

You're from the UK aren't you? google "turnkey" and "digital village" and "Maplins" Also: http://www.soundonsound.com/readersads/ ... php?Cat=27

I'm not holding your hand any more...

Good luck!

if you going to use the digital i/o of the mixer and the mpc you need actual digital coax cables to do the job right.. they look like rca but they are different.

Or you need some little rca->1/4' adapters' to hook your mixer right to mpc analog style.

Liquidmass is right about the digi coax cables, but I don't think your mixer does digi does it?
