mixing on the 1k

so i jus got an beringer 1204 and i wanted to mix my beats. I loaded the programs up, all seqences and now when i go to mix them i have to assign each pad to the one of four outputs. truly dont think four is enough! ive got kick, snare chopped sample , which is at least eight pad to the chop! it seems like limiting an orcastra to two mics! jus need some feed back thank in advance

you'd be suprised at how many orchestras are recorded with just 2-4 mics.



i would say try to assign the like sounds to the same outputs. Like Hihats and shakers to one, kick and bass to one, all samples to one, etc. Just try to think in terms of frequency ranges.

dont get frustrated it usually takes me 2-3 passes to get everything tracked out. It usually only takes about 15 mins for a 3 min song so its not that bad.

Theres 6 outs not 4.

To get a good mix ,I would track each track in to a mulity recorder on the PC, you can use midi clock with most software recordings, try checking out Sparq's videro tutorial. clik on this. this should help.
