Ever notice?

Ever notice when you extract a sample to make it a new sample that the new sample is never at it's end point fully?Is this just my 2500 that does this?No big deal just wondering.

I was wondering whether the 2.5K did what the 2K does in regards to cutting off a little bit of your sample.

No one had a definitive answer. Only that it didn't bother them. That shit bugs the **** out of me. I'm currently using the same samples that I had been using with my 2000XL. So they all have a little silence added to the end of them and therfor I still don't know the answer. However, I am very interested to know the truth because I plan on putting a hard drive in my 2500 and just dragging and dropping my entire sample library onto it. It would be nice to NOT have to batch process over 10 gigs. You know? I'll eventually get around to checking myself, once I get my computer set up again.

yeah i noticed this sometimes but not every sample. i use extract new sample instead and it works better and you mantain the stereo sample...the chop shop is garbage would be cool but the mono sample BS has to go.

I agree man mono samples stink, good thing the extract keeps them in stereo!!1 I also read in the link that was provided in this thread that the little space after the sample is something that is setup as an option that you have controll over so I guess you can make it different lengths or whatever. Not sure if that is true or not I need to do some more research in the manual.

The setting I mentioned in that thread is just concerning the envelope. You wouldn't see that in the Trim section.

So you say when you Extract something from a sample via the Edit menu, the new sample does not have the exact same length that was selected by the start and end point before? Did you compare the number of samples in both?

Or what is the problem?

my problem is when you extract the sample the length of it is the same but the start and end points are not. There is always a little section at the end of the sample that is not selected.

Check out this thread that mr.crappy started, if you look at the second post in this thread you see that dollarbillbeats is saying that the small amount of space that is left off on the samples is something that you can adjusted numericially.

Yes, and I supposed that he meant the Decay in the envelope. Which has nothing to do with the trimming. Other than that you can only change the end point manually.

Maybe it does it only on very short samples? I didn't notice it myself up to now.
