Yeah I talked to ebay and they pulled it cos I listed EMU SP1200 in the title. Some jerk got pissed at me and snitched an hour and 45 minutes before the auction was up. Honestly I didn't consider it spamming because the machine is so rare and it is reasonable to expect those looking for a SP1200 or Studio 440 or MPC 60, would love to see a brand new Forat F 9000 as well. It makes perfect sense. Some people are just haters though so f^ck it. I actually have not wanted to sell this beast. I've had it boxed and unused for 4 years. My plan was to keep it because Bruce told me he's not making these any more. But I need a bunch of gear for a new mixing suite that I am building in studio b where I work. So unfortunately now it makes sense to sell it. I also own an sp 1200 and a studio 440 both in pristine condition. I will probably sell those sometime soon as well. I've owned just about every classic drum machine you've heard of at one time or another. I Miss my black 3000 and my 60II

out of the studio 440 mpc 60 and sp1200 which has the best 12 bit sounds for drums? what about when u throw the forat 9k into that comparison, which one sounds the best?

Personally the Studio 440 is my favorite for 12 bit samplers. There's something that happens inside that box that sounds better than any of the others. Every drum I sample with it turns into somethings slamming and usable. I'm tempted to run much of my current library through it just to get it's sound on my recordings. The Forat sounds huge I will put it up against the 440 but they just sound different I imagine the convertors and bit rate would explain this. One thing is that they both sound Analog to me even though sampling is digital, the circuitry in these machines is imparted into the drums. Same goes for the sp and the 60. I like the Forat sound better than any of my Akai MPC gear. But like I said the F9000 has been in storage since I got it. I turned it on loaded up some sounds and played with it for a night or two. Then I put it away. My feeling was that it kicked @ss for drums, stabs ect.. and I needed to spend a couple of weeks learning the OS. Problem was I was using a MPC 3000 with a S950 attatched and the SP1200 at the same time, so I had my hands totaly full. This was around the same time I purchased my first protools rig as well. Needless to say the Forat was to stay boxed until I had time to chill and explore. Guess who never has time.

I checked it earlier that day and I think it was up to about $2500 + with around 60+ watchers. I'm not sure how many of those people will see the auction this time

440 is the sh!t. If you do sell it, I hope it goes to a good home. It'd be cool if dave smith and roger linn got together to create a new beat box...

Yeah, that would be a great output. I think both of those guys have come up with some great instruments since their heyday. Dave Smith with the Evolver/PolyEvolver & Roger Linn with that Adrenalinn. Hes done some cool things with M-Audio too.

wow 2500 for a forat9000?! mothafukkaz is crzy!

i've owned about 6 or 7 or 8 of these forats. never paying more than $700 for one...

here are their problems:

forats crash, theyr'e unreliable(the job inside the unit isn't the best...not the bst solder jobs) the b attery is soldered directly on the pcb...not very good for lasting...

it's really a hack job. but whats cool is bruce forat is incredibly nice and will respond to you really quickly.

EVERY forat i've had has had a problem.

they do sound amazing, but they're 8 bit. imho their groove is more rigid than any of the ot her drum machines.

I constantly had problems with my last one. I did love it though. but certain things get to be a pain in the ass(like no program loading, but loading each individual pad by itself).

i was really pissed when i traded my forat away and i saw the guy resell it on ebay a week later for $1800 and advertsied it as "mint" it was far from mint. the main output was broken. the toms and congos voice was broken. the guy was straight ripping people off and it pissed me the hell off. I sold him like 4 broken units he then retried to sell em as fully working mint condition.

oh and btw, i bought that forat on ebay for $600:p

the forat9000 is a great machine when functioning perfectly. lots of outs, great for a big studio. sounds amazing. it is buggy, and u will get frustrated by it.

imho out of the lo fi samplers, the sp1200 is the best sounding. studio 440 is there too. mpc60 really bein the last of em. its goood but sounds too clean...

btw, sellin my studio 440 right now lol, i don't vibe with it no more. so if anyone's interestd, holla !:-)

yea people who know me will know i'm a forat/440 fiend. i've owned too many forats, too many 440s. and they're supposed to be mega rare. but look around they pop up ALL THE TIME

they really are old and antiquated...i realize this everytime i got one...and then i sell em...n look for em again lol:-)
