I just installed a card reader and the related os, but the mp just gives me the above message when I turn it on. And when I do insert an SD card, it says "Generic IDE Card" then gives me the above message again. What am I missing here?

(I apologize- I know this must've been covered already, but I'm in a net cafe and I can't afford to search!)

Hit me on the PM if you need to. Thanks, y'all.

But you can afford to wait for a response? C'mon now.

before installing my card reader I first updated to O.S. 1.20 but later (before installing, after doing some thinking :) ) I came back to 1.14 just in case if there was something wrong after installing the card reader

if you have changed the power cable, then it will be hard to come back to O.S. 1.14 via floppy drive...anyway,if you still can go back, try 1.14 with the card reader.it works very good

Really? I thought 1.14 only worked with floppies and zips... But I'll try it. Thanks a lot.

I have an internal 4 in 1 card reader, OS 1.14 on my 2kxl works fine.

When anyone updates they should generally know WHY they are updating and what the update does for them and their system. Whether they really need it or not. Don't just run with an update cause others are doing it, it's not for them on your machine, it's for you on your machine.

I tried switching back to 1.14, but it just says 'Boot disc ver. 1.00!' when I turn it on. It doesn't let me do anything.

Does anyone have the boot disc data they can post up?

Boot disk would just be the regular downloadable OS on a disc, just place the bin file(s) on the disc, no folder or anything ONLY the downloaded files, no PDF's either..

eh ... isn't that a "no OS on media" error that you get with anything, floppy, zip, scsi

in other words have you put the mpc os on the card?

.

oh ... 2kxl? that rom boots doesn't it?

sorry, classic owner

my bad
