I got 2 Iomega 100 mb zip drives, my mpc won't even recognize either of them.....I got the right cable and all.....I don' get why this shit is a problem....I looked in the manual and around the boards here, didnt find anyone with the same problem as me....

does anyone know what's up with my zip or mpc?

Peace

might be something wrong with the zip drive, or did you have the disc around a speaker or any kind of magnets?

No man.....it's hard to believe that both of my zip drives is defected or all of my discs.....but I'll keep away from magnets now, it's logical just didn´t think of that thanks.....

it's wierd that it doesnt even feel that i got a zip drive connected......

maybe it's the problem with zip drive ID and Termination ? Try the different setting on the rear panel

maybe it's the operating system...which version do you have ?

I got v 1.14, I read that version 1.20 was only for the mpc2000xl MCD.....there´s two settings on the rear of my zip.....5 or 6 I tried them both....didn't make a diffrence....

how many operating systems is there......I have only found v 1.14 and 1.20...

what about termination ? have you tried turning it off and on while being on the ID 5 ?

the O.S. 1.14 is ok for floppy and zip drives and works perfectly fine with my card reader

yeah tried that now too....didn't work......I looked at the scsi cable now....on the biox it says "scsi cable DB25M - HPDB50m 1m" and on mpc2000xl.com it says I need a cable that's called "DB25 male to HD50 male SCSI cable"....this got to be the same thing.....because it looks exactly like it.....but mybe that's it though....

Yea i was going to tell you to check 5 or 6... I think its a problem with ur MPC recognizing zip drives... because with my external zip (Iomega Zip 100), the MPC recognizes it I have it set at 5, however if you read my post I am having difficulty loading sounds from my internal zip on my PC, can u help me with that, do u use Chicken Systems or what?

If you got the mp second hand it could be that the scsi fuse is blown which is a common occurence.

Do you have the S/PDIF card installed?

Yeah I thought about that.....that my scsi fuse might have been blown or that i have the wrong cable...but i got two cables now none of them work....but then I got a cd-rom player that i plug in via scsi and that works fine....it's on scsi-4 and that works great.....

Abend - I don't know what the S/PDIF card is.....I got my MPC second hand......
