Old tapes and the mpc1000

I have an mpc1000 and am wondering how I can get some sounds from analog mix tapes into the mpc? Can I hook up a cable from my stereo to the mpc and record in? Also, to connect from my pc to mpc in order to use FL w/ my mpc, what type of cable do I need to get? Thanks

Sure, use the analog inputs of your mpc, but remember that the signal has to be preamplified. In case of most tapedecks, the signal is already preamplified, so most probably you have everything that you need, just make the connections.
