MPC usb question

I cant get my mpc to connect to the computer so i can upload the new OS. it keeps coming up as an unknown device. my first thought is that something is wrong with my memory card...but im not sure...i just wanna make sure im not doing something wrong or its not user error.... i basically connect the usb to the comp and the mpc...go to the sync page and then try and transfer the files....the mpc recognizes the computer but not vice versa...can some1 please help me fix this...cause im workingg on the first o.s and would really like to update thanks!

yea dude.. just formate the memory card.. then re do what you did.. its shoudl work .. if not.. then purchase a new memory card ... a bigger one.. it should most likely ork though.. o well to all your files saved on the memory card..

format the card using the MPC not windows.

what operating system are you using on your computer? if you are using win98 or me it is very likely the os that is the problem here. if you are using xp the device should be recogized as easy as an usb stick.
sometimes you have to refresh your explorer window in order for new devices to show up.
