Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi. Is there any techniques that you can offer that would make drums sound more natural when programming then using the mpc? I want to be able to take full level off but still however soft i hit the pad, i want to be able to specify a minimum velocity. Eg, when i hit this pad, the minimum possible velocity would be 99 and the max, 127. Does anyone know if this can be done, and how to do it. Please share your techniques here. Thanks

Why don't you just play at as your normally would with FULL LEVEL off and adjust the velocity levels in STEP EDIT accordingly.

Press open window in the envelope generator. you can adjust attack/decay times depending on your velocity. Also the start time of the sample - lighter you hit the pad, further in on the sample it starts. You could probably make more realistic drums messing with those.

16 Levels set to Velocity. Thats what I do anyway. I reckon that would be the easiest way of doing what you want without creating copies of the sample and setting specific levels for each copy.
