I hope when my XL craps out I can still find a new one to buy somewhere.

^^^ Because a 4k costs more than a 2k. Gotta reread the first post.

Machinedrums go for a bit more than 2ks as well, but that and RS7000 are nice answers outside of the akai sequencers.

any of u guys familiar with the RS-16X program? its just like an MPC for the computer

so far its definitely lacking some important features...but if they were ever to make this like a fully fledged sampling/sequencing workstation like teh 2000xl...theres a possiblity this could be a resonalbe $35 replacement!

if i had to move away from the 2000xl i would definately go to a roland mv-8000 ive worked with those and there really nice 8) all the features of
my 2000xl and so much more as well .. the mouse and screen option for one really got my attention
