That is wrong. Read the manual.

you can 'copy notes/pads' from one program to another. it allows you to copy over pads in the existing program, other programs in the bank, or to an empty new program. its a workaround, but you can still browse thru and 'pick and choose'. it was a pain at first, but now i just load all the programs as the 3k allows me, then make a new program with only the sounds i want to use. oh yeah, make sure the 'midi to pad' assignments are all the same, or the samples are going to end up in wrong pads.

???

No you don't ...

Program changes to select the active DRUM PROGRAM played by a sequence can be inserted in step edit mode.

Or ...

In realtime while the sequencer is running by rotating the data entry wheel while the sequencer is in record mode.

Try it.

Rohan.

no that dont work. you can change the program on midi yeah, but not the internal program of the mpc3000 for a sequence.
that doesn't work! if it work tell me how. that description only works for midi program changes.

Try changing the SEQ mode in the MAIN screen to DRUM.

I'll revise what I wrote when I get home this evening to include a little more in the description.

Load up multiple drum programs.

With the MAIN SCREEN track in use set to DRUM.

Move the cursor keys down to the PGM selection field.

With the sequencer in PLAY or RECORD mode and running.

Spin/Turn/Adjust the PGM selection field to change the PGM in real time with the sequencer running.

This is also cool to quickly change programs in a multi-timbral sampler/rompler in real time when it's set to MIDI.

Sorry again, intern program change while the seq is running is not possible!
only midi programs can be changed i have 3.16 and the track is drum.
If somebody really did this then tell me how. Only if he really did it on his mpc3000.

It will do it just make sure the Program Receive is set to Receive, in the MIDI input filter screen and that the Pgm on the main screen is set to a numerical value when you start to program the sequence.
You already know that TYPE has to be set to DRUM.
If you do this and you have 4 programs loaded you can spin the dial through them while playing.

ROB ... not true.

ROB ... with your custom OS images loaded in my machine there is no problem.

RE-INIT your system parameters and try again.

Read also the last post by "THE MAKER".

It does work.

If you're still stuck then continue this conversation with me via my email address ... which you have.
