saving midi to zip

i have some samples ive made on my 2000xl and when i save them as save a sequence it says its saving to the zip as .midi but when i put it in my computer it says ~1.TRA. anyone know what im doing wrong?

Your naming your files too long. You need to rename them to 8 or less characters, then you also stand the chance of your PGM/APS not being able to recognize a renamed files..

i tried what you said and now my computer recognizes it but when i play it its a piano clip about 3 seconds long that isnt what im trying to save i bought it used on ebay. any tutorials on how to save sequences?

You saving right but you cant open your beats you made on your mpc on the computer i wish it were that easy. I mean you can play them but its not goin to play what you played. Your PC will recognize the MIDI Data and play data on your PC that responds to it. And thats the piano riff you hear. You need to record your beats to your PC in order to get them to be .wav, mp3, ect files. Saving it as a .mid file allows you to acess it again on the mpc.

You will need a recording program such Audacity, Adobe Audition, Sound Forge, ect...

@ diction, like he said above me, MID files are NOT audio. Follow that above advice and go from there.

Remember MIDI is NOT audio. That's a beginner misstep.
