BPM detect on the 2500 ?

I have a XL and i was thinking about switching to the 2500. i just wanted to know if you could in the trim/loop screen change the pitch/tune and if the MPC then displays the new current BPM like the XL ?.


Other then that what are the main options/funtions the 2500 the XL does not have ?

One thing people never mention is that the 2500 is fast.
It does things so quickly you wonder if it did it or not.

Cool, but can you find the BPM of a sample on the 2500 ? cause i know the MPC 1000 BPM detect is a JOKE!!!!!

yeah its in the trim/loop mode. its helped me out a couple of times but it has its errors.

Then im gonna stick with the XL.

PS: why is Akai pumping out junk ?

I've made my peace with my 2500. Aside from some of the sample screen options like section merge and the bpm detect thing mentioned, i do prefer it over the xl which is what i came from. It has it quirks but is still very usable. Now would definetly be the time to cop one too...they don't seem to be fetching more than $1200 on ebay.

the problem with the proper beat detection on the 2500 and the 1000 is due to the fact akai doesn´t state in the manual that the mpc does beat count only with one bar loops. try it and you´ll see that is as useful as chop shop.
if you are only messing around with long loops and you are not able to tap in the tempo with the tap tempo button maybe a rhythmical hobby isn not the right one for you. i assume you can´t play a steinway grand piano or a stradivari to perfection, does that mean they are bad instruments?
i cannot believe what arguments some people think of when looking at new gear.

But....Akai didn't have to re-invent the wheel. The BPM detect works great on the XL. The 2500 should perform the same way.....

It never really worked for me. It's more of a joke than anything else. If they make record players to detect BPM's there's no reason why the 2500 would work so crapy.

Last time i checked Steinway does not advertise that there pianos have a "beat detect" funtion.

If I thought the MPC 2500 was crappy, I would get an MPC that is not crappy. That's just me personally.......
