Carbon Paper

I was readying the sticky about repairing our MPC pads. Im pissed since I only had it since Feb..06.. As I taking my carbon off I I messed my carbon piece. So i was wondering if any knew where to get more carbon paper from...

you can order more from the graphite store online (google it)
but you would be the first to have done so and honestly i dont know if you should be the first.

for all that trouble, it would be worth spending the $8 at VST for a replacement pad. Install it in the place of whichever pad you bang most, and see how well the corrective new glue holds up.

Same thing happened to me.
Just put a pad sized piece of aluminum foil between the graphite paper and the metal contact.
voila, done.
My other fifteen pads have the Nym fix, one of them I went with the foil.

be careful with the aluminum, PLEASE, it could possibly short out your machine from what i can tell.

yeah, i wouldn't recommend it either. stick with the carbon or buy a replacement pad... whichever is more convenient.

Aluminum shorting out the machine, how? Has this happened to anyone?

if aluminum foil if safe and not bad for the machine. dont you think akai would use that instead. it would be way cheaper. use your head.

u never know they prolly tested it and didnt pass , so it can be a problem , i wouldnt switch to another material its a big risk.

i think i may remember someone posting that they tried aluminum and it shorted their shit

but remember, i smoke a lot of pot so my memory ain't worth shit.

If I remember it actually conducted at all times so the velocity was always full regardless of how hard or soft the pad was hit.

I got some foil up in some of my pads for the past month, and it has worked just fine no problems at all..I actually got the idea from Poltergeist on here..Now I don't have to use full velocity all the time anymore..I was surprised how well its worked...
