F ing Clicking

I get a realy annoying clicking sound wen i sample to my MPC2000. Its not the metronome, more like an old vynal click. Any ideas wat this could be? wires? or is my MPC f#cked? Where can i get it fixed, pref round the oxford area in the UK.

i had same problem when i was running my mpc through my shitty stanton dj mixer. Fixed that with using digital.. and i would imagine a good mixer would fix it too. could be cables or shitty connectors. could be levels/gains.. keep messing with different things. I doubt it is a prob with your mpc itself but i could be wrong.. im not too helpfull really.

It could be any of these or even the needle on your turntable!!!!

My mate had ones of these going on. A constant ticking every time he played his bass. Drove him nuts. Replaced cables. Blamed this bit of gear that bit of gear. Tried endless things ...

... until he realised it was the pickup on the bass picking up electromechanical noise from this wrist watch.

Make sure your not overloading the inputs on the MPC. Just have to throw it in, but check your levels in the sample screen. Try different cables going from your mixer to the MPC. Try to eliminate it one by one. Do you hear the sound when you plug headhpones into your mixer? - if so, it's not the MPC.

Shake it down!
