hi, i read the manual, read the previous posts on this topic and it did't help me in my case - i got the os on the ZIP (cus it loads faster than the floppy) as well as the aps and all files. i got 2k wich doesn't work with directories, and there's no setup button for autoload - so is the only way to stop auto-load, to load from separate device (floppy or whatever)?
thx

There is no autoload with the 2k classic that I know of.

Reason why I say that is, in the 2kxl load screen there is a setup button at the bottom, classic has NO setup button.

If you compare the manuals load screens you will see what I'm talking about. Even with the 1.72 that a friend of mine had (I upgraded his) I never saw that button.

Not sure if im understanding you correctly but are you wanting your progams or sequences to load up after the OS is done loading? If so it is possible to do that on the mpc2000. I do it on mines. I have an .ALL file saved and after the OS is loaded it then loads all my sequences(must be saved on the same disk the OS is on). Is that what you are asking or no? Also another thing is it will not load both the .aps and .all file it will only load the first one it sees(either .aps or .all).

lampdog: 2k classic has the feature, check the manual pg146...funny that u referred to this page in some topic, guess u've forgotten

the last one standing: no, u got me wrong - the programs atc do load after the os - and that's exactly what i don't want...so i'm trying to solve this, but i want to keep my os on the zip drive, cos the floppy is too slow...got me now? sorry, maybe my english is not that good

Remove the .aps file from the OS disk if you keep it on there its going to continue to load that up everytime. Best thing is to copy that .aps to another media inless u dont need it.
