SETTING THE TEMPO!!!!

I was bored one day and just started playing with my MPC and I was playing with the tempo, I don't know what I did but my tempo starts at 30.1 instead of 120.0, I hope everyone follows what I'm saying. For example, I turn on my MPC and the sequence highlighted like normal but when I press the cursor button to highlight the tempo it automatically goes to 30.1, I think I messed with the settings somehow. If anyone knows what the hell I'm talking about tell me how to put it back the way it was, thanks.

Go into the EDIT screen and hit the USER soft key, here you can change the default paramaters like tempo, bars, etc.

I got mine set for 85 ALL the time.

does this work on the 2000 classic?

for my classic 2 K ,the default tempo is 120.

how about autoloading the metronomes volume??? That **** is always too loud and I gotta remember to turn it down everytime or else I will end up blowing my speakers up

make a template sequence with everything set up how you like it... tempo, bars, named tracks, metronome volume, etc.

this works for me

That's what I did wit the 85bpm but sometimes I will devaite from the recipe you know. It's good to stretch yourself in a different direction sometimes. Good example, bombs over baghdad and hey ya.

85? 80? them sho is some slow tempo settings ......I hope yall aint on a 1/8 timing......lol

the faster you tempo and the higher you count ratio the more realistic your beats will sound

Not really and a totally false statement, challenge yourself and go to 78bpm with 1/32 as timing. Think outside the box sometimes man.

78bpm at 1/32 with 4 bars is the same as 156bpm at 1/16 with 8 bars. Im talkin bout doin 174.4 bpms at 1/32 with 8 bars or 16 bars striaght. you do that or have your 78bpm at 1/64 with 4 bars now your talkin

Its all simple mathmatics go try it out youll see what I'm talkin about.

Another thing wrong with having a low bpm number is that there is less room for modulation for editing just incase you think you might wanna move some thin over or chop sumthin up at a particular point. you short change your self with that low tempo

Higher BPM makes a difference.

I've done all of that what you said in the past (many times) and have never had a problem with short changing myself. I got the beat I wanted that was in my vision and all is well.
