wussup MPC fam ...

any one of you pad bangers doin sound creation (hardware or software)
to expand your sound?? not samplin' , im talkin about startin with a
SINE wave and adding effects and tweaking until you get what you want?
and if so what do you creat on??
hardware or software ...

the reason i ask is because if been creating sounds with the xv5050
as well as the trinity so i can create a signature sound kinda like lil johns
synth sound .. or that so so def 808 .. and its not as easy as peeps make it out to be, you can actually spend hours bending a tone to get it where you want it, is any one else sound sculpting?
or am i the only one in the lab talkin about"a little more delay here
a little more resonance here"

i think i will do this alot once i get the proper equipment.

i don't dig club music though, so i'd want to creat something deeper and darker probably.

Can´t answer the poll as I create my own bass sounds, I create my own synth sounds and I sample to create different sounds.

It´s all about what I want sound I need and what the track needs. Last year my studio has been in storage so I have been forced to only work with my MPC 1000 so it´s been mainly sampling, otherwise I use a Novation Super Basstation and Yamaha AN 200 to mold sounds.
And my Akai S 2000 works as good as them for sound sculpting, it basically has the same modulation and routing options as an advanced analog synth. The MPC 1000 can do a lot on it´s own even though the sampler part is pretty limited.

i have about 1000 presets for my korg m1 and i still haven´t tried all of them.
to me it´s mainly what fits into my project - if a preset bangs, and i haven´t heard it that often in other productions, i´ll use it.
short time ago i messed around with a korg ms-20 and on that unit it is so much fun tweaking and twiddeling the sounds no preset stayed pre-set for more than a few seconds... 8)

i mostly stack presets 2 create new sounds.
i also sometimes create patches from scratch

for me if the beat comes out hot then i have achieved my goal
i don't get caught up in oh i must tweak and do whateva.

no one has eva identified a sound i have used not that it matters and there r thousands with the same triton i got.
