had this fastfat.sys bluescreen too. first i thought it was a windows-problem, but it appeared on different comps. so i formated hd with OS 3 and now its fine.
now i think that was a side-effect of the os2.1-directory-error-bug. i used to bypass directory error by just saving again when error came up but that **** up the filesystem on mpc-hd.

i'm not sure if others do this, but, if possible.... [that is, if you have enough free space to run efficiently]........... defrag your drive periodically.

plug into your MPC via USB and run 'Disk Defragmenter' from Start Menu/Accessories/System Tools.

i haven't had to do this with my hard drive yet, but i've done it with my CF card (via a USB card reader)...

yeah... umm..... peace yall.

"Ok, I formatted my HD and it will read it. However, when I unplug and plug it back it in my cp only recognizes the HD as a "Removable Disk F:" and when I try to do anything to it all it says is "Please insert a disk into F:".

Basically, what I have found out is the only time my CP will read my HD is immediately after I format it on my MPC.

Anything based on that?"

You've probably already tried this, but before you connect it make sure the Load thing, which is default set to Memory card is on harddisk. Cuz I had the same problem.

I always create my folders using my mac (via usb),
things seem to have cleared up since doing this.
