remove only 1 1/2 beats from a sequence

This may be rudimentary?, but I' havin trouble

I've got a 2 bar sequence. (1bar 4/4, 1bar 16/16).
I want to remove just a beat and a half (maybe less) some in the middle of it all (all tracks) I don't want silence, I want to toally remove it, so the sequence is shorter.

Any super simple way of doing this like "cut time between locators" in Logic??

move the cursor to the timing area, Tsig "4/4" and open window, change the bars from there.

Won't that only remove the beats from the end of the bar?

I have a 2500 but here's what i do. i think it's the same.

Example: say you want to remove 1 1/2 beats in a 1 bar phrase from 001-00-48 to 01-03-00.

First all your samples must be on 1 track, this is easy to do and to correct later.

In seq edit:

Move the edit selector to copy, set the timing field to represent the start point at 001-00-00 and the end point at 001-00-48.

Next assign the "from seq/track to seq/track" window to be FROM seq/ track 1 TO seq/ track 1.

Set it to replace..

Set the start time to the END of the value we determined: 001-03-00.

Hit do it.

We have now chopped out 01-00-48 to 01-03-00 (or 1 1/2 beats in 4/4).

I do this all the time....If you want to chop off the end of that first bar (4/4) go to the TimSig, open it up, and change the 4/4 to 2/4 but make sure on the left it says 1-1, which means you're working on the first quarter note....it will cut just that bar in half...

if you want to chop off the end of the second bar, go to the same place and make sure on the left it says 2-2, then take your cursor over to 16/16 and cut it to 8/16...

if you want to take out the part in the middle, now it's a little trickier but possible... I do this all the time...It's pretty lengthy to type out, so tell me if it's in between 4/4 and 16/16 that you want out and I'll get you the details...

edit - and i really wish i did. could someone post up audio of this kind of shit happening? am i a predictable boring producer because i've somehow missed out on the above?

press "start,stop,start,stop,start" as an intro to your loop....

hah i would never have gone about doing it that way.

I use this technique to copy and paste from a pre-existing sequence and build new patterns.
