easiest way to timestretch

ok wen ur time stretchin u have to tell it the original tempo of the sample ....how am i supposed to know this/????

I dont think Ive ever used the time stretch function on my MPC...

mpc2000xl:
-load the sample
-go to the trim screen
-hit F5 (edit)
-move the wheel till u find the "timestretch" screen (last subscreen of edit)
-hit F2 (bpm):
it will reafd the original tempo and let u set the new tempo.

I have but it's been a LONG while.

I stick with sound forge cause it doesn't take forever.
Also my batch processing is done in sound forge.. again, easier.

@ Dirty_D_3000, you probably didn't check the manuals or a search of the forums, you would not have seen it in the manual or addendums of the 2k cause it doesn't exist. You would have read on the forums that it doesn't exist on that machine also, research, D, research..

2kxl has time stretch w/ "bake a potato in the meantime" feature.

Easiest and cheapest way to manually timestretch on any mpc is to buy an SP-202. If you need effects get the SP-303, but on both, you can timestretch in real time. Just twist the knob. Yes, it's that easy.

You can do it but it's a VERY long process and doesn't sound as good as using the XL or some software. You gotta chop the sample up into MANY MANY parts and double sometimes triple the chops on play back. It's a LOOOOOOOONG process.

SF 8.0

All of them can do timestretch though.
