Mono/Poly Problem

Not totally sure if this is the problem but as of now I have a 2 programs loaded with the same samples. One is set to POLY and the other is set to MONO. This is because I want the samples in Sequence 1 to overlap, and I want them to cut each other off in Sequence 2. I want it to go Sequence 1 (POLY) to Sequence 2 (MONO). The problem is when I create a new song in song mode, my Sequence 2 that is set for MONO still overlaps. Sequence 1 plays fine but when Sequence 2 starts, it plays it like it was set to POLY and the samples still overlap. I don't know if this makes any sense but maybe someone can help me out.

u could just put the non-overlaping samples on a dif trak in the 2nd seq, but u do have 2 delete the other trak.

eg.
-seq 1 overlaping samples on trak 1, nothing on trak 2
-seq 2 non-overlaping samples on trak 2, nothing on trak 1.
-put them in song mode then convert!

this should work! hope it makes sence

i do have the non overlapping samples on a different track

and it works fine until i convert it into a song in song mode

also when i only convert sequence 2 (one that i want samples to cut each other off) to a song, it works just not when i have both sequence 1 and 2 loaded in song mode

Real quick...same program..but are they given different names?

damn i thought that was gonna solve my problem but it's still overlapping even when i assign both the pads and program to mono

I just tried having it go the other way around with the MONO program starting first. If I have the sequence with the MONO program go first, it plays it like it is suppose to by cutting the samples off. Then when sequence 2 starts, it plays the sample as if they were MONO by cutting each other off when they should be overlapping because that is the sequence that has the program that is set for POLY.

I have one more suggestion. Try putting the pads of either the mono or poly program on a different pad bank i.e. pads from program 1 only on bank A and pads from program 2 only on bank B, it's worth a shot.

i just tried it and it worked:

1 seq. tr1: mono tr2:unused

2seq. tr1:unused tr2:poly


now make a song with these two sequences.
convert to new seq: seq3

in seq 3 check track1 has prg:mono and track2 pgm:poly.

here is another question...if i can do this my problem may get solved...in a program i only want 2 of the pads to be MONO and cut each other off...the rest i want to be POLY and to overlap...if i set the program to POLY and choose Voice overlap:MONO for the 2 pads i want to cut each other off, they still over lap each other...am i doing it wrong?

it will work with the 2 programs.
just make shure that in the new sequence(=converted song) track1 and track2 have the right programs assigned!! because after converting
tr1 and tr2 have both the pgm:poly. and thats the reason why it works in
songmode but not after converting. when you did it the otherway around,
having the mono seq first, then in the converted seq. both tracks have
pgm: mono. just change one and it will work.

this setting is for one pad only. it will cut itself but no other!
to have the 2 pads cut each other, put them to the same mutegroup(in the "params" window)
