MPC 2500 Question

I have a question, if anyone can help me please reply back asap.
My question is can the mpc 2500 sample its own sequence like the mpc 4000 can?
For example say I made a sequence useing all midi for my tracks, can i sample that whole sequence I made and chop it up into pieces and place them on differnt pads? I heard the mpc 4000 can do this function but I'm not sure if its true. If the mpc 2500 can do this function for me than I will most def buy it. If it can what is this function called and how do you do it? Can any other MPC's do this function? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS QUESTION

Yeah , you can record what's being sent to the main out's.
It's called resampling.

Only the newer MPCs have these functions. Older MPCs like the 2000XL and 3000 don't have this feature.

If you go into the Sample Record menu, set input to main out, press play to start the sequencer, and then arm the MPC to sample......

So your saying the mpc 2000 or the 2000xl can't do it but the 2500, 3000, and the 4000 can? Let me know thanx

MPC 60, 2000, 2000xl, and 3000 CANT DO IT.

If that's the answer to his question , then what was the problem actually? You can record with any mpc and chop it up can't you?
You don't need direct recording for that.
Or is he talking about recording the whole sequence as midi and chop it up?

And if he means resampling , can't you just connect the main out's to the main in's on older mpc's and record that?

Sounds like someone never used an older MPC

No, this is not possible. Older MPCs cannot play a sequence and re-sample at the same time. Only the newer models.

hehe , yeah , i've never used anything older than the mpc1000.

There are more than a dozen features/enhancements (probably more) that the newers MPCs have that are not possible with the older models.

I heard the mpc 2500 doesn't have shift timing? What exactly is that and what does it do ? How do you do this function step by step thanx guys, your really helping me out with my decsion
