playing keyboard through mpc

i have an ordinary cheap casio keyboard w/ midi in and out. my mpc is hooked up to a stereo. i was just wondering how you can play the keyboard keys, so that the sound comes from the stereo just like when you hit drum pad on the mpc, instead of the sound coming from speakers on the keyboard.

I don't know about the keyboard's in-built speakers. I've never used one that has them so don't know how they would come into play. But you should be able to disable them? Is there a set of stereo outputs on the keyboard? You need to connect them to the stereo. Seeing as you're using an ordinary consumer stereo, you might not have enough inputs to acompany the MPC and the keyboard. ...This is one reason people have mixers.

You gotta have an way to play the sounds from both the mpc and keyboard OUTS. Just because u connect your Keyboard to the MPC doesnt mean its going to play out the MPC its only sequencing sounds u may use and only sending MIDI DATA MESSSAGES not ACTUAL AUDIO. By the way which Casio keyboard do u have? Most of them are not multitambral meaning they cant access more than one sound(midi channel) from the keyboard at a time. There stuck in like an OMNI mode but i wont go into further details cause I dont wanna confuse you.

Oh ok yeah that keyboard isnt gonna be able to do what u want it to do cause of it being in an OMNI mode. But ne ways u could always sample from it or use as an controller for software.
