16 LEVELS

With 16 levels you can take a one note sample, and play it like an instrument, with different levels of tuning. You can for example play a melody and sequnce it.

Why then do people say on so many websites that this sort of thing is not possible???. I know that its not exactly the same as multisampling or as indepth as say a rack sampler, but in essence it does a very similar job.

It just does my head in how people claim that this sort of thing is not possible on an mpc, when it so blatently is to a degree.

Any ideas why people say its not possible???

because with something like a piano or a choir, it's gonna sound all chipmunked when using 16 levels

multisampling is gonna sound more like the original instrument

not that one is better than the other

i thought that the 16 level functions just max out ure volumes.....

With 16LEVELS you can do more then just volume. Thers is also 16levels of tone, attack and release. I think that's it. I use 16LEVELS very often, but i try not to "over-use" it. Otherwise the track ends up sounding like tiger vomitt said - chipmunked .
