I just bought a MPC

but don't have any monitors yet what do yall suggest I do buy some headphones or something and if so what kind only serious answer please thanks

Thats up to you but if u can go ahead and cop some monitors if not then all u really need is a way to play back your beats on the mpc so u could use some headphones, pc speakers, home stereo system, ect.. The main question is how much do you have to spend and how much patience do you have?

right now nothing I am slowly trying to build this home studio and i found a cheap mpc on ebay so i had to jump on it but i have all the time in the world just low funds

Hi, I'd really recommend the Alesis active monitors: trustworthy monitoring, and great ' hifi speakers' at the same time. With hifi I mean that the sound isn't in any way bothersome after long listening sessions. About 50% of my friends who make music use it and love it. Only potential drawback is the fact that the low-end appears somewhat over-represented, which is a pain in the ass if your room/studio is tiny.

And freakin cheap, I guess about 199 dollar each. But if you're not actually living in your studio, or you maybe don't even have something that could fit that desription, it would be wise to buy Beyerdynamic headphones, or a comparable quality brand headphones. Otherwise, just go to your local musicshop and check several headphones with a track that you know well, and everything will work out fine!

Goodluck, but realize that good monitors really put a smile on yr face on a regular/daily basis, so it might be worth to make some financial sacrifices.

If you don't got a turntable and a mixer i would recommend that.

Yeah, Im am planning to get a MPC 1000. My budget is no more then $1600 including the MPC. I was wondering also of wut kind of monitors/turntable I should get? But is a Mixer really needed? I know Pro Tools well enough and can't i just do all the EQ/mixing stuff on that?

I guess you don't need a mixer, I was just buying Roland SP-404 and it only has line in, so I need a mixer. Sorry bout that.

not if your turntable can provide a line level output. How is that 404 treating you?

Yeah, I know. But I got this Technics SL1210 for free (yup), so I'm just buying a used Gemini KL-10 mixer.

The 404 is on its way. Really lookin forward to that, been trying to by accessiories like a small desk/table, cables and stuff. I'm expecting it to treat me very well
