MPC 1000 MEMORY WIPE

Hey everyone:

i've tried to decipher how to do this in the manual but i can't figure it out and don't want to do anything to ruin my shiny new mpc.
i need to get some of the crappy sequences off of there, but don't want to delete any of the pre-loaded samples. if i delete a sequence, does it take the samples, one hits, etc. with it?

also, if i transfer a sample (that i uploaded) to the memory card, does it free up my on-board 16mb memory, or do i only have 10 secs stereo sampling capability until i suck it up and put the 128 card in there?

i really appreciate any help...i love this machine so far and i feel like i've only scratched the surface of its capabilities.

WHen you delete a sequence, you actually delete the events, the samples stay in memory and are still assigned to the pads with all their settings.

Transfer from RAM -> CF card? U have to save, unassign the pad, and then purge. THe number of sampling seconds, is proportionnal to your free RAM. SO the more free RAM you have, the more seconds you will be able to sample.

ooooo , btw, I agree with misterrock : delete all the presets. Find your own samples, and make your own beats. That's the way to go
