BEst Key board FOR a hip hop Pro duce R?!?!!

No Matter cost what is the best Key board out there right now

You could use ne keyboard its just a matter of taking the time to create the sounds u want and learn it to its fullest potential. But if u want an keyboard/module that states in its description its for hip hop then look for an Emu MK-6 or an Planet Phatt, Mo Phatt, or Turbo Phatt module. (its a ton more thats just my example and opinion)

Ok I can get a asr-10 for $550 Or a Roland fanthom x6 for $600

Or a triton extreme for $625 from a friend and The other gear I have is a G4 powerbook with cubase and a mpc 2000xl

Well since u can get them from your friend go to his house and try them out. The ASR is a sampler so it wont have ne sounds in it which defeats the purpose u are after. So go test out the fantom or triton and see which offers what u like. Either one will allow u to have hip hop sounds its just a matter of knowing which sounds to use to make hip hop and its all about your skills, patience/time,ect.. all that plays apart in making music. The keyboard has nothing to do with it. What u put in is what u get back. U feel me?

You might want to check out websites that are dedicated to the 2 machines that you are interested in. do a side by side comparison of both and see which 1 suit your needs the best. i know ebay has the comparison feature on their website and you can email the seller and get more info

I agree with the whole "use your imagination" approach towards synths and keyboards but there does come a point when you want to up the ante and some gear simply won't be up to the task. All synths are not made equal. Try comparing a reason subtractor synth to a real analogue synth and you'll definitely hear the difference. No matter what you do with a lot of digital synths they will never be able to match the sound of an analogue synth.

If you want a synth, (as opposed to a sampler, rompler) and money's no object then IMHO the Alesis Andromeda is the King. This thing sounds awesome. Fully Analogue sound path, Two Multimode filters, lot of modulation options.

It won't do a good piano or clarinet sound as it's not a sampler but if it's synth sounds you're after then it's tough to beat. If you want a good sampler you could get a software based one like Halion or Kontakt.

My .02 cents.

Can't you check out the manuals and see what functions are in each of them, there are TOO many differences for someone to do THAT much homework for you imo. Get the triton or the fantom.

and from readin your posts .. not tryin to be rude... but it seems like your
quite new to music production i would say laptop with reason to get your feet wet first .. and try to use that in conjunction with your MPC before breakin bread for an actual keyboard production station
