I have recently bought a external 100 MB zip drive to load my samples into the MPC 2000XL... I found out right away that the files must be added onto an MPC formatted disc. I was also told by Akai Support that I would have to download the free version of Chicken Systems Translator Free in order to drag my .wav sample files onto the zip disc, placed in my internal zip drive in my computer, then transfer the disc to my external zip drive hooked up to my MPC. I have done this, however upon first downloading Translator Free from Chicken Systems, I encountered problems dragging the files onto the Zip disc partition. I called Chicken Systems Technical Support and was told there was an error and they would work on it. They have just released a new version of Translator Free this month and upon using it I encountered another problem. It first says, upon dragging files onto the zip disc partition, that the disc is full and not enough memory left, but in actuality the disc is empty and the files I am dragging are not close to 100 MB. After the initial drag that gives me that message, I attempted another drag and the error message was different saying there was a non fatal internal error... I am wondering what I can do about this as I cannot keep using the floppy drive because it takes much too long to get samples together and then the floppy discs often become unreadable. Is there any translator for zip discs besides Chicken Systems? Please let me know how to resolve this issue, my work is suffering...
