RAM Details

i send an e-mail to akai benelux and they said you can place another memory in but the mpc will only read 64 mb.

I just got off the phone w/ Akai Tech support and he said he's "heard" of people being able to use laptop memory cards in the MPC (it's a sodium card he said) but the chance of doing something tragic to our MPCs is pretty high if we put something in there that doesn't jive with the unit - So...happy hunting and don't mess your MPCs up in the process

they told me there is a memory thet works.
but it only reads 64mb. with 144pins

Is there a particular company or name brand? Have you tried the 64mb chip?

hmm.. i think i will just stick with the Akai memory.

you have to put in a ram of 128MB in the mpc
but the mpc will only read 64MB.

has anyone tried this ? troma did you order off that link you posted ? anybody ?

I have not ordered it. Tempting though...

So, if the MPC reads 64 out of 128, has anyone tried putting 256 to get 128 (with off the shelf memory)?

there is a dude on another forum that put another ram in his mpc and it works fine.
he even did the memory test.
tommorow i will go and buy the ram and tell y'all if it works.

i went to every store in my town and they didn't have the ram i was looking for.
any know a site that ships internationl where they have that ram.
