Ok..maybe some slight miscommunication.....

Well, I did what Poschec did and went back to OS 1.20. The 2500 as an MTC SLAVE (MMC turned OFF) works the way I have known MTC to work for years. I can get the MPC 2500 to SLAVE to both Nuendo and the MPC 3000 when they are set as MTC MASTERS. However, the 2500 using OS 1.21/1.22, this is not possible for me.

Looks like the guy who implemented the MTC was the same guy who did the Detect Tempo.
Sadly enough I still like the 2500 even with it's problems.

You can just go back to 1.20 if you really need it to be fully functional.
Just remember to setup a CF CARD to boot the O.S. just in case you see the System error.

set the MPC to the following:

Sync In: 1 (slave)
Mode: midi time code
Receive MMC: off

Sync Out: A (Master)
Mode: Off
Send MMC: ON

press play on the MPC, the screen will display "Waiting for time code"
press play on the master source, and the MPC will start up fine.

Isnt this how the 2000xl did it?

From memory...I don't think that is how the 2000XL did it.

MPC 2500s OS 1.2 reflects more of how the XL performs. You can set the 2500 to SLAVE to MTC without using MMC. You can start and stop the 2500 from another sequencer (MTC master). OS 1.21 and 1.22 changes this behavior.

What sequencer? And what are your MPC 2500 sync settings?
