best way is to practice... use your ears - not your eyes... also, listen to the 'original' song that he sampled and try to determine how he flipped it... sometimes i find that the producer didn't even chop it up really... if you really listen carefully you should be able to understand what was done - plus you might even find some hidden gems!

step one - sample 1/3rd of the original song
step two - add drums.
step three - whine about your broken jaw

you've got a hip hop classic on your hands!

..and.. claim you need to be a character in the next "Bible".

Seriously though, that is easy to.

If it were me, I'd make my beat and then in Vegas I'd take the original song and put it on another track, I can either do real-time timestretch or speed up the tempo (in real time) on that track only and get the 2 beats playing in sync. I can then, on the original track, add Virtos Filter Box and proceed to filter my azz off until I get vocals coming through and where my beats tend to drown most of the original music and that's that. All in real-time. Kanye wasn't the first to do it, he won't be the last, he just seemed to bring to the forefront of the mainstream. It's easy though. Takes about 10-15 minutes. Acid pro is just everyones choice cause it has good looping and remixing tools but the tools you use to do that are standard and nothin spectacular at all.

Lol. Being that he's made it clear that this is one of roughly 8 or so hip-hop songs he's heard in his life, I had a feeling Antonym's eyes would light up and he'd be in this thread attempting to be witty as usual.

What the hell is that suppose to mean? I drop knowledge so remember dat. Also if u learn to be your own person u could prolly make hotter sh*t than Kanye West. Step out of that mind frame of being similar or just like your favorite producer. If u want to use that same sample then so be it. BUT answer this HOW WILL YOU EVER KNOW HOW TO FLIP A SAMPLE IF U DONT AT LEAST TRY THEN COME ASK FOR HELP BASED ON WHERE U STAND AT WITH THE CHOPPED SAMPLED? I mean i aint tryin to be no b*tch comin at u hard or ne thing im just saying JUST DO IT. It cant hurt u to try thats how music is, TRIAL AND ERROR. Once u start practicing all the time it becomes a part of your life.

If you do like Jacpot is always stressing "CHOP SMALL" then all of your chops should fit in the mpc. Also download Audacity its FREE and u can chop and loop sh*t up in there then just load it in your mpc and set it up for looping and u good to go.

I could go on for days but i came back to HELP not B*TCH about what others choose to do.
