Configuring the pads with samples

Hi Guys,

Just picked up my MPC and just testing our some features. I have recorded a sample in the MPC using a cd player. I have no troubles assigning the sample to a pad. How would I configure the pad so that when I just tap it a little bit, it will only pay a little of the sample. Right now when I tap the pad with the sample loaded onto - it will pay the whole sample. Any help would be wicked. Thanks.

the feature is called "note on". by default, all samples assigned to pads are set to one shot. that's what you are hearing when you press the pad, currently. what you do is go to "program" (mode + pad 7) then scroll to the sample you want on the pad you want it on then highlight the sample and press the window button then scroll to note on. and then you have what you want.
