Myself, and others I know have no problems with autoload,or next sequence at all. I'm satisfied for a long time to come. Anything else they add is a plus to me.

Give the new OS about a week or so and you will hear everybodies opinions good and bad about the new OS

i haven't experienced any bugs at all ...some cats said autoload and next sequence and offered workarounds for both..but I didn't use those workarounds at all and my shit works fine. my next sequence works even when I have reset q link and controllers on seq change on, and autoload works with or w/out default items on.

I'm thinking that maybe (reaching here) people with those bugs didn't install the os correctly (hit initialize before restarting after installing the os)

I found a simple way to get around the Sample adution issue. What I have done is created sample folders. in each sample folder I have a bout 150 to 250 megs of sounds. when i want to audition sounds I just simply load up one folder at a time find the sounds I want add them to the progams after I have heard them. Peruge the sounds I dont want (all sound that are not in programs will be deleted from that multi) in the globle field and go to the next sample folder and repeate those steps. it sound like allot but its not once you get the rythem of it.

Note: to get to the purge section 1st go to globel then hit the memory tab(F3) then at the bottom where it says defragment toggol that until it reads purge.

That's a cool -unorthodox- way which i'm doing too.Due to my organized samples in cd roms i load them up all! :) But,the audition function will be more useful. We have to wait for once again!

main things for me are as follow:

Pad Mixer
Note Repeat (is it stable)
16 Levels (velocity) and 16 levels tuning
MTC sync.
Shift Timing in Real time.
No bugs here. Been runnin' 1.51 all day :D
On the sequence change thang, I just set "Reset Qlink on seq change" to OFF and everythin's cool.
The Pad Mixer is hot. One page for everythin', level, pan, fx send, out select. Same for the part mixer.
Note Repeat is stable. With 1.45, I could get the repeat to latch (last note kept playin') after hittin' multiple pads. In 1.51 AKAI fixed the repeat bugs. Can't get it to happen now.
16 Levels VELOCITY and TUNING options both work good.
MTC Sync. Didn't try MTC Out but MTC In syncs tight with mine recorder.
Shift Timing in Real time (while playin') is all cool.

1.51's da best update ever (well, 1.5 was f*cked up)

Cool...cheers mate.

Please keep me updated as these few weeks are very crucial for me...as i am about to make the big purchase my self.

as anyone would, i just want the 4000 to work with me rather than against.

BTW:

how can Akai mess up on thier Note Repeat feature in the first place? Was it really bad.

i mean its thier trade mark feature.

also the 16 levels thing...was it anything major?

the Pad Mixer is a must for me...as i have this on my MPC 1000 (cant live without it now) and i cannot even think why Akai left this feature out on thier Flagship.

Ya kno, the Note Repeat wasn't THAT messed up. The Pads latched only in a special combo of Note Repeat, 16 Levels if ya hit multiple pads at the same time. Not in 99% of use. Other than that, the 16 Levels worked as expected but didn't have the TUNING option.
Before 1.51, ya could use the pads for tunings and ya could tweak the drum mix but it was completely different from other MPCs. I've no idea why AKAI did that. Good thing they put it back now.
