Right now I'm just using Live 5 with iDrum and Recycle for basic instro ideas to rap over. I sample about 99% of the time so no synths or anything in the equation. I'd really like to get the simplicity/fun/workflow of sequencing with an MPC as opposed to all the coldness of a computer. I dig putting shit together in Live but I'd really like to get the computer out of the way for the playing/sequencing. I do hear chopping loops is easier on Recycle, which is why I'd like to incorporate it as well.
So, what I'm thinking my workflow would like like is this :
Record samples into MPC 1000 (connected by USB into comp)
Save to computer HD, get loops/chops and shit together
Get loops and chops back into MPC for playing/sequencing
Track into Live for mixing
How does this sound? It seems to me like it would be easier/funner than just software, which is what I'm going for. I love hip hop and I'm not really in it for dough so I don't care about anything but fun/getting my ideas out.
Sorry for length.. Replies would be appreciated
