The 4k is wicked, the only thing is Ak.sys doesn't read the SEQ & PROG I'd created in the 1k. :x

Anyone come across this - or any ideas?? - or maybe it's a case of start from scratch with my PROG & grooves!

Its a major PITA and typical of Akai not to coordinate their products. This is something they do intend to implement

but don't hold your breath.

some kind of third party 1000/2000/4000 conversion utility is reeaallly needed at this point. Mr Goins??

That's interesting because Arbiter (Akai's UK distributor/tek support)
emailed me to say that 1k prog & seq is readible by ak.sys and they don't understand why I'm having problems :?

I told them what version I'm using (like they asked) so I'm waiting for feedback.

hi Yoot...

spoke to DV at acton (i think a guy called Will) and he said as soon as your done, he'll loan it out to me.

however he said i have to pay the full price for one, then he'll refund it.
i was like...OoookkKK.

well still cool suppose...get to try it out.

when are you likely to give it back, i think Will said to call him in a couple of days.

can you please leave the latest OS on thier. id'e appreciate that.

cheers.

Hopefully I should get the new 4k within a few days - I wouldn't of thought this would take long. Of course I'm gona leave the new OS in there mate.
It'll be more hassle to revert back to the original anyway. :)

Just heard back from Aribiter & they said there shouldn't be a problem with SEQ from the 1k since it's just a midi file but the prog, there might be a problem with - he's waiting for Akai Japan to get back (whom I've emailed directly anyway-but no feedback).

Trust me Labz man, you wont look back. Remember, the 1k has left out some classic MPC features that people rant & rave about.

I was wondering with the 2000/1000, the step editor can only deal with one parameter(decay, attack, filter, tuning), does the 4000 have the ability to edit multiple(all) parameters for each event? Or is this all done in the piano roll? Thanks!

Has anyone gone from 4000 to 1000, and what do ya'll think. Are you really missing those extras?

Yup, both!
