FAO: MPC3000

Hello,


I just bought a compact flash reader/writer for my pc(USB) and a 256m cf type 2 card but I am having a hard time looking for a cf reader/writer for the mpc... there was a pcmcia card slot on ebay the other day but I wanna make sure I get the right one before I buy it. Can you tell me if there is some kind of scsi external cf reader/writer that I could use for the mpc?? Could pls kindly right down the exact name because Im having a hard time looking and explainin what Im tryin to buy. oh and I dont want internal pcmci because I already have internal zip and I want to keep that and just use the scsi port for the cf slot....

Zips have moving parts, CF doesn't.

this is an interesting post/question. ive searched on it a few times but have yet to come up with anything (other than people mentioning that it can be done)... is anyone up for doing a mpc+compact card reader FAQ? You know, one that'll explain what you need, possible models of card readers, which MPCs it works on, etc.

just a thought.

MPC SCSI reader FAQ:

1) Only buy SCSI
2) Only buy Intermart or Microtech models.
3) an external reader is actaully an internal reader in a standard case
4) If you own an MPC3000, do not buy the PCD-47
5) PCD-15, 17, 19, 25, 47 has been used with the MPC2000 and MPC2000XL.
6) PCD-15, 25 has been tested with the MPC3000.
7) MPC60 - unknown status but suspect it is similar to MPC3000.

Everything else is found in the PCD manuals.

Ive tried searching for a scsi flashcard reader but I cant seem to find any.
One thing, if I were to install an internal flash r/w what kinds would work?? Im thinking of just uninstalling the zip drive in my mpc and just chage it with a cf /rw

I suggest you go back and actually read my post. I did not post it for fun. Pay particular attention to the line that starts with 2)

MPC3000 do you know a site where they sell these scsi card readers ? Because I've been searching around and it seems those card readers have ceased to exist .
