i actually sold my mpc when i discovered ableton, always looked for that one application with one screen/interface and lots of built in things... but since i use my computer for work, school, administration and what not, i needed to get away from that thing, so i picked up a mpc again :)

really?i had no idea,but thats what was wrong with the first one i grabbed.it was a demo.i should have known better.the guy at the door in guitar center checking out stuff coming in tried to tell me that they dont take returns on holidays normally.lol

the problem about the mpc is (at least for me) that you can't freak out with it like with ableton where you can build sick fx chains and all that stuff. if you wanna do that you'll need lots of additional gear.
btw, as a former live user i am thinking about getting the 2880 4track looper from ehx. u can sync it with the mp and have an easy to use looping machine (it has reverse!!!) to make your stuff a bit more "live" ^^
