Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello everyone. I have a mpc 2000xl midi with a korg triton and digi 002 protools set up...the problem i am having is that my pad is either stuck or done with on my mpc 2000xl... Its pad 12! Everytime i start tracking sounds from the triton or even leave the two there for a while my mpc2000xl just starts playing the same not over and over sometimes just out the blue. I have tried updating the mpc operations system i have even held down erase while turning on the mpc.. I did a pad test by hold shift 5 and then shift f1 and some times when i hit it shows no velocity or after touch and then i can see it without touching the pad shoot to 127 on both the velcity and after touch. Are there any other tests or something else i can do or will just have to get this drumpad replaced and if so how much does that usaully cost..\

Thanks

Sound like ur padsensor (sheet UNDERNEATH the pads) is failing on you.
I had 4 pads that went "dead" i bought a new sensorsheet for about 50 usd and replaced it. The pads themselves hardly give any problems 99% the problem lies with the sensorsheet.

But ur pad is working only it's working TOO good...

So try this:

- Open up ur mpc (not the bottom plate) and take of the padsheet.

- GENTLY pull the sensorsheet off (try to pull only the part of pad 12 loose,
just the corner, first)

- and place it back.

This could fix ur problem. My guess is that the sensor underneath pad 12 is maybe gripped TOO tightly on the metal.

Hope this helpes you.
