Dose the mpc 2500 have these functions, like the asr 10 , to make the drums really hit?

Normalize: Yes.

Boost: No.

But I'm sure you'll find other ways to make your drums "hit"

I think you're talking about the "Bit Grunger"...which only makes the samples sound dirtier by lowering their quality.

It doesn't? Under which circumstances?

Every once and a while the normalize function wont effect the wave sample and I dont know why..

hmm...maybe because it's just below clipping already?

Yeah, I have noticed this also............sometimes there are spikes in the wave( i.e. a pop or something) that may not be visible and these spikes are already clipping...........Now I do all normalizing on the pc, where everything is visible. Anyway..that's my opinion. :D

when I use bit grunger it seems to boost the sample a bit? I dont know what the above guy means by boost.......but my samples before and after are louder after the effect..................

Yea, it easily distorts the sound, that's why I don't like that effect much myself. A proper bitrate conversion like 16 Bit --> 12/10/8 Bit would be more useful.

I wouldn't say the boost on the ASR makes drums bang just louder...Try using sampling throught the inverse expander effect, and normalize, then boost, and filter..And your drums should bang on the ASR..Then What I do is sample those into the MPC (cause I rather have it all the MPC), and plus no saving on 2 different machins its all on one..
