Cleaning the 2000xl

Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone had any tips on cleaning the outside of the MPC? Mine shipped from the factory with a minor blemish that I would like to remove. A little soap and water is helping to fade it but was wondering if there was anything else I could safely try. Thanks!

Check your local market for some Endust for electronics. This ish works wonders on equipment.

Word.

More specifically, look for "Anti-Static Wipes" from Endust.

Bleach and drano. With turpintine or paint thinner sometimes. Be careful or your take the color out of the metal.

Nah I have a dog and smoke while I'm working so my pads get crazy grimy. I just take an old t-shirt or a rag and run some warm water on it and just clean my pads. Use a little elbow grease to get off real wack stains.

PS-The Drano was a joke. Don't want new jacks destroyin ish.

I always keep my baby covered with a towel when not in use, prevents dirt and dust buildup on her pretty face.

Towels just filter out the large particles and let the small one through (which do the most damage) also towels absorb dust that will then get on your machine. Get a better cover, plastic or a tighter fabric (silk).

If you want to clean you unit the right way, you will need to remove the cover. If you do not take off the cover, every time you clean the cover of the mpc, you are brushing dust particles into the crevis betreew the buttons, and the cover. Eventualy, your mpc will aquire quite a large amount of dust, under the cover.

I recomend looking inside the box, if you have not done so yet.

Dirty circuit boards, and connections can lead to malfunctions and breakdowns. You do not want this to happen!

i just take a feather duster to it once a day, but other thsn that it's never been too bad

I actually have other towels too, I change them every couple days, I don't really have a problem with dust particle buildup but if I have any speks on my baby, I take a damp paper towel and wipe off the junk... my mpc2000 (non XL) is minty fresh and looks almost new except for a mark the note variation slider left on the front which I am sure I can buff out, and a tiny spot that landed on the inside lcd screen when I installed my 32mb memory.
