Direct recording bug

I dunno if this has been posted, but I didn't see anything happenin this same way, so hopefully I am adding somthing to the forum, if not diseregard and I will go back to the lab and figure out what's wrong with my gear.


I reproduced this 5 times before giving up and doing it in ableton.


How my ish is setup:

x50 master out going into the 1000 record in
x50 and mpc 1000 doing the midi handshake
mpc 1000 is on "input through so I can hear the x50
Listening through the headphone out on thre mpc

I seqeunced a drum part on the mpc, playing drum samples from the x50 rom. Now I wanted to use a program from the x50 that I couldn't get in multi mode, so I tried to record the drum part to the mpc as an audio file. I already had a sample going on the mpc (from internal) so I wanted to use direct record to keep em lined up.

I start direct record, and everything goes quiet, both internal sound and the x50 coming in the record in. Also, my "input through is now disabled (as in I cant hear anything, it still shows up as being turned on in the mixer)

Once I spend a few minutes playing with the mpc, undoing/deleting and toggling the mixer setting, the input through randomly starts to work again.

Well, that's about it.

yeah i noticed that to, but all you have to do is when you have the track highlited, hit window and rec.input is probably already on analog. scroll right and back to analog and it should work again.

yeh you dont even have to scroll from digital to analog. i had teh same prob everytime i recorded via direct record then trimmed the sample. all u have to do is press 'mode' then 'record' then 'main' again and it should work fine. not too much of a hassel.

Has anyone had a problem using multiple direct record tracks? I've only messed with it a little bit, the problem I'm having is I can only hear what's playing live but not what I've already recorded.
