Having difficulty importing samples - watup?

Watup peepl,
I'm workin @ a sound design studio with loads of sample CD's, but I can't import all the samples, like WAV files won't load, even though I can see the folders in the LOAD page! Can sum1 tell me what the deal is - do I have 2 convert all these samples into Akai format on a CPU !? What is akai's major malfunction?

Just use AkSys on your pc or mac it is usb enabled and allows youto import wav files straight into your 4k from your computer (hard drive or cdrom).

I use it all the time with xp pro and no glitches at all.

If I have totally got the wrong end of the stick then please let me know.

I just hooked up my unit and have tried to import with Ak.sys and can't find out how to grab stuff off of my computer cpu. I've tried taking a folder of .WAV's and dropping onto the AK.sys application icon and it loads but doesn't show anything on my HardDrive, just my external USB drive I have connected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, running Windows XPhome with an Athlon processor. I can't find any decent documentation on Ak.sys on the web either...

You have to launch aksys, then from within the browser window drag and drop the wav folder into where ever you want to inside your 4k HD. I believe you can do it this way, however you might have to load them into memory and then drap/drop them into the HD. Don't have the 4k in front of me so....

i,ve noticed that at times samples with symbols in the names dont load ...like () += etc etc.......weird....it usually happens from Aksys on my Mac OS9... if I change the name of the sample to all letters without symbols it works great!!!

Make sure your samples aren't compressed!!
