Help me out hardware sluts...

I went kinda crazy on ebay this month..made some purchases...

E-mu Planet Phatt
E-mu Mo Phatt
E-mu Proteus I
Peavey Base Specturm 2 (base modulator)

Not too long ago my homie savilion lent me his KORG MS2000R...

my question is this...any head out there familiar with e-mu hardware synths and/or the korg ms2000...when i midi sync my mpc to the synth, i can only play 1 sound...say i choose heavy base, if i record a track with that sound, i cant on a new track play a different synth from selection i have..Korg ms2000 i know has only 4 note polyphony...i guess its insode the synth rack itself...if there are any heads in here that have used any of this gear...lemmi know...need sum help....

1) I wanna play multiple sounds from one rack recorded onto different tracks...
2) id i switch the sound, the whole section i previously recorded switches to the new sound..i dont want that..help me out yall..

Maybe its this:
Read the section of the manuals (if you have them) concerning Multitimbral set up..

Basically you need to use the modules in multitimbral mode..

Multitimbral is the mode that allows you to use different internal synths sounds of a module or keyboard at the same time, either on different midi channels or the same midi channels (such as layered sounds/splits)..
So it would run down like this:
E-mu Planet Phatt : Midi channel 01: Bass
E-mu Planet Phatt : Midi channel 02: synth sound
E-mu Planet Phatt : Midi channel 03: piano
etc...

Not sure what your using as a main sequencer or what you mean by "when i midi sync my mpc to the synth".. That sounds like your trying to "sync" another internal sequencer with the mpc..
I assume you are saying " I would like to send a midi signal from my MPC midi output into my other instruments midi input and sequence the sound on the mpc"...

Not to get off topic naVi, but how is the Planet Phatt?...I am thinkin about scoopin one up so I am just curious....Hit me on a pm when ever you wanna get that colab goin!!!!

Any equipment with a hiphop-name doesn't look very reliable. "Planet Phatt".. shi. I'm sure it's great though.

Man...the best one you got up there is the E-Mu Proteus! Beautiful sounds mayne...got one at the crib!

I had the E-Mu Mp-7 beat machine so I pretty much kno what the mo phat sounds like...Nice beat machine...jus wasnt put together rii

Sale me one of those. The Mo phatt is basically the Planet Phatt. Its actually an step up though the planet phatt may offer a lil more(eg extra outputs). But u cant even add roms to the planet phatt where as u can add 3 extra roms in the Mo Phatt. Are u aware that they have basically the same sounds?

korg ms2k isnt multitimbral so you can only sequecne one sound at a time...

The planet phatt & mo phatt are old news. I'm not knocking them because I use to use them. I got rid of my planet phatt a couple of years ago. The programs got tiresome very quick. My boy still has his mo phatt but he never uses it. On the other hand you made good with the proteus. Still has a nice, clean sound set that's usable. We still use one when tracking at another friends studio on the weekends. However, not too much tweaking will be going on with those "phatt" units. They're excellent if you're just using them to catch snippets and phrases. Just be careful not to over do it with them, cause they'll leave a bad taste in your mouth.
