hard drive problem

I just installed a samsung 80 gb 2 days ago.
It worked fine until I went to the load page after I rebooted the machine and saw that my hard drive was empty.
I then tried to save something , but now when I entered the save page, the hard disk had 0,0mb free. Also when I tried to format it gave me a "system error!" message.
took the hd out the machine and back in several times untill I could format it and started saving again. today, this just happened again.
has this happened to anyone else?
what is the problem?
my hd doesnt fit the mounting kit perfectly so I cant screw it on. Maybe thisis the problem?

nope this hasnt happend to me.

perhaps your hd isnt mounted correctly.

but i had similar probs with the hd and mounting cage. the screws tended to cross thread a bit.

someone put a similar thread on a couple of days ago and they resolved it by reseating the drive (out n back in). you will need to screw it down else the drive wont connect to the disk controller inside the MPC. the disk will just flop about in there like some kinda wet fish.
