Samples only will work on Note Off

Hey

Ive been going through a cd of drum samples that i have and im having a bit of a problem. For some reason the majority of the sounds will not let me switch them from note off to mono or poly. This would maybe be alright for a sample but not for my drums. Can anyone tell me why this might be doing this and if theres a way to fix it.

If the sample has loop set to on in the trim screen the samples will behave as if the pads were set to note off. Thats all I can think of for now...
