'Detecting memory'.

Any suggestions on a 7 year old 2000xl that just says 'detecting memory' every time you switch it on..
Tried brand new memory , and nothin
Also had some nasty id/recognition failures with the scsi around the same time (tryed a new one,cable and discs) and strangely enough, nada..

try taking out ur memory and place it back. If it still won't work, maybe ur memory is failing. Then buy new memory, it shouldn't be that expensive, as i recall the memory from old pc's will fit. (correct me if im wrong)
