I have been to a few parties that have had live pa set ups.
One that stands out, would be this one time I went to this dance party, and was a mpc2k and 3k hooked up, and then a couple of keyboards.
The party started with two guys working there tracks from one mpc the the other. It sounded sick. When they were done with their set, they just left this breakbeat playing, and the dj mixed into his set, from the mpc beat.
I have also seen people playing there mpc like a hand drum, along with people playing bongos. This was at a house party. The main beat was comming from the hand drummers. Every now and then, this guy with a 3000 would hit his pads. It sounded pretty good. He was laying down some heavy bass kicks, and sampled hand drums.
I dont think I would do this though. The pads are not designd to be hammered on like a real hand drum, you might break them.
